State Chapters

GAMFT has chartered and maintains a network of eleven local chapters across Georgia.   All GAMFT members automatically belong to their local chapter and are entitled as well as encouraged to attend local chapter meetings to obtain low-cost or free CEUs, network with their peers, learn of jobs or advertise job openings, and promote the practice of marriage and family therapy at the local level.  All GAMFT local chapters are under the supervision of GAMFT’s Board of Directors and are organized along sound management principles.

The principal activities of local GAMFT chapters consist of monthly or semimonthly membership meetings, which are open to students, pre-license professionals and members of other allied mental health professions.  At these meetings, a topic is presented by a competent speaker, on subjects that may focus on clinical issues, ethical concerns, pending legislation that may affect the practice of marriage and family therapy, and other topics of professional interest.

There is complete reciprocity of membership among GAMFT chapters: members of any chapter may attend meetings of any other Georgia chapter, and gain CEUs, without hindrance or limitation.
