Board Member Elections

 

Call for Nominations!

The Elections Committee is requesting recommendations from GAMFT membership for four positions that will be elected in 2024. This year we will be voting on the offices of:

  • President-Elect
    • The President-Elect shall serve a term of one (1)year, succeeding to the office of President upon completion of that term. When the office of President-Elect is occupied, the President-Elect shall serve as Presiding Officer of the GAMFT and Board during the absence of the President.
  • Secretary
    • The Secretary shall serve a term of two (2) years. The Secretary shall keep the records of all business meetings of the GAMFT, the Board, and the Executive Council. The Secretary shall direct the distribution of minutes and reports as authorized by these by- laws and the Board. The Secretary will update the appropriate digital archives of minutes for GAMFT Board and Annual Business meeting minutes.
  • Treasurer-Elect
    • The Treasurer-Elect shall serve a term of one (1) year, succeeding to the office of Treasurer upon completion of that term. If the incumbent treasurer is re-elected the treasurer-elect position will not be necessary until the next election time period.
  • Elections Committee Member
    • The Elections Committee member shall serve a term of three (3) years, staggered so that one (1) member shall be replaced each year. The term of office shall begin on the January 1 next following their election.

Each of these positions is important to the continued growth and relevance of our organization so we hope that every member of GAMFT will give thoughtful consideration to the selection of candidates for this year’s election.

When we receive your recommendation, a member of the Elections Committee will contact that person to ascertain his or her interest and willingness to serve. The completed slate of nominees will be presented at GAMFT’s Annual Business Meeting which will be held in May 2024 at the virtual Spring Conference. During that meeting, membership will have the opportunity to nominate additional candidates from the floor. A nomination from the floor must be supported by a minimum of 10 voting members and must have the consent of the individual being nominated.

Voting will take place by electronic ballot in July. If a paper ballot is preferred, contact the GAMFT office the first week of July. Newly elected officers will then take their positions on January 1, 2025.
